Martin Babinec, Chairman, TriNet
Martin Babinec is Chairman of San Leandro, California-based TriNet Group, Inc., a human resources outsourcing provider serving more than 2,000 small and medium-sized businesses throughout the United States and Canada with an integrated service offering that includes HR technology, payroll, benefits and human capital management. TriNet has been recognized in the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame for five consecutive rankings as one of the fastest growing privately-held companies in the U.S.

Since his founding the company in 1988, Mr. Babinec’s activities have concentrated on revenue and team growth, strategic development and investor relations – including leading TriNet through five rounds of private equity financing. He has been prominent in the growth of the HR outsourcing industry, serving multiple terms on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), and is active in supporting industry development.

Mr. Babinec has published more than 30 articles and given an even greater number of public presentations on topics ranging from entrepreneur and company development, leadership, human resources management, outsourcing and regional economic development to name a few. He serves on the Board of Directors of Accolo, Inc., is a member of the international Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) network, and a recipient of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneur of the Year award. He has also served as a guest lecturer at the University of California-Berkeley, and with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, which has profiled TriNet in a case study for academic research into high-growth, equity-financed companies.

Nasir Ali, Managing Director, Seed Capital Fund of Central New York

Mr. Ali is the Managing Director of the Seed Capital Fund of Central New York and Vice President, New Venture Development for the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. Ali’s primary mission is to support the creation of an entrepreneurial culture in Syracuse and the Central New York region. In addition to managing the Syracuse Technology Garden and Sam Williams Business Center, Ali also coordinates CNY Angel, a group of early stage investors; manages a network of experienced mentors; and oversees www.GrowSyracuse.com, a one-stop online resource for the region’s entrepreneurs.

Ali moved to Syracuse from Washington, DC, where he was an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton charged with helping IRS Commissioners manage over $1 billion in technology modernization and workforce restructuring initiatives. Prior to this, he co-founded New Think (a mobile commerce services firm) and WritersPoint (an offshore technical writing company). Before beginning his career as an entrepreneur, Ali turned around large-scale software, telecommunications, and systems integration projects for Fortune 100 companies. He received his MBA in Finance and Operations Management from Yale University’s School of Management, where he helped initiate a joint Masters degree program in Industrial Environmental Management. Ali graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Physics and a concentration in Economics.

Greg Moran, President and CEO, Chequed.com

Utilizing more than a decade of human capital management, sales and leadership experience, Greg Moran is President and CEO of Chequed.com. Jack Brantley, Chief Operating Officer, Chequed.com / Founder, Fitability

Jack Brantley is responsible for product development and client services for Chequed.com. Previously, Jack was the President and CEO of Fitability (acquired by Chequed in October 2009). Brantley and the founders created Fitability to be the tool they had needed as hiring managers, in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. Brantley brings 20 years’ experience introducing and marketing new technologies to businesses, having been an investor and a founding manager for two successful startup businesses. He was a founder of Interserv Services Corporation, a $50 million/year provider of teleservices and marketing research. He served as vice president at the Elrick & Lavidge division, where he directed marketing research and customer satisfaction studies for major telecommunications companies, and created a national syndicated research product in alliance with Deloitte Consulting. Prior to InterServ, Brantley was a co-founder of Async Corporation, a national voice processing service, where he developed the company’s core product as vice president of marketing. Async grew to sales of $30 million in five years, was on the Inc. Magazine “List of Fastest Growing Companies” prior to being acquired by MCI. Brantley’s alma mater is the University of North Carolina where he was a Morehead Scholar. He is active in community leadership and usually has at least one musical instrument within easy reach.
